1. Who we are

HIDE n SEEK is a trading name of Go Hide Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17492134), with its registered office at 26 Dome Hill, Caterham, CR3 6EA. Go Hide Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at [email protected].

2. What we collect

  • When you book: your name and the name of the second guest, email, phone number, booking dates, number of guests, whether you're bringing a dog, and any notes you give us. Our payment provider handles card payments, and we never see or store your full card details.
  • When you join a waitlist or sign up for last-minute stays: your email address and, if you choose, your mobile number for WhatsApp.
  • When you enquire or apply: your name, email, phone number and your message. If you're a landowner, we also collect details of your land or property.
  • When you use our website: usage data such as the pages you visit, your device and browser, collected through cookies (see section 7).
  • When you email or message us: your messages and replies.

3. How we use it and why

  • To take and manage your booking, including sending your confirmation, SEEK guide and arrival details by email and WhatsApp. Lawful basis: to perform our contract with you.
  • To enrol you in the Off-Grid Nature Club and arrange your stay with the site host. Lawful basis: to perform our contract with you.
  • To tell you when a cabin on your waitlist frees up. Lawful basis: your request.
  • To answer enquiries and applications. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests.
  • To send marketing emails, including last-minute stays, only if you've opted in. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To improve our website and services. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests.
  • To keep accounts and meet our other legal duties. Lawful basis: legal obligation.

4. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We only share it with:

  • The site host: the landowner where your cabin is located, who receives your name, contact number, booking dates and number of guests.
  • The Off-Grid Nature Club: which receives your name, contact details and booking dates. Its own privacy terms are at www.offgridnatureclub.co.uk.
  • Our service providers: our booking system (Beds24), payment processor (Stripe), email and messaging providers (including WhatsApp), and website host. They only use your data to provide their service to us.
  • Authorities: only where the law requires it.

5. Data stored outside the UK

Some of our service providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure suitable safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep it

  • Booking and payment records: 6 years after your stay, for tax and accounting.
  • Enquiries that don't lead to a booking, and waitlist entries: up to 2 years.
  • Marketing list: until you unsubscribe.

7. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to make it work and to analyse traffic. Non-essential cookies are only set with your consent.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to how we use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within one month.

9. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
